  1. About These Terms

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the IDTC website at idtc.dance and your enrollment in classes, programs, performances, and productions run by Indian Dance Training Center, located at 13242 Wheeler Pl, North Tustin, California 92705.

By enrolling a student, using this website, or making a payment to IDTC, you agree to these terms. Where a student is under 18, these terms are agreed to by their parent or legal guardian.

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version will always be posted on this page with the date it took effect.

  1. Enrollment and the Program Year

The IDTC program year runs from the first week of August to the last week of May.

Enrollment is a commitment to the full program year. While fees are billed monthly, we ask families to plan for the whole year so that each class can progress together. Students may join partway through the year where a suitable class has space and the teacher agrees the student can be placed appropriately.

Class placement is determined by IDTC based on age, prior experience, and readiness. We reserve the right to move a student to a different level where it serves their development.

A trial class may be offered to prospective students at IDTC’s discretion.

  1. Fees and Payment

Monthly fees. Fees are due as posted, usually on or around the first of each month. Monthly fees are calculated on the number of classes scheduled in that month.

Registration fee. A $55 annual registration fee is payable in August. Students joining after August pay the registration fee in their enrollment month. The registration fee is non-refundable.

Recital fee. An annual recital fee is due around January each year.

Payment method. Fees are viewed and paid through the student portal on our website. Payments are processed by a third-party payment provider, and your use of that service is subject to their terms.

Late payment. IDTC does not charge late fees. Families experiencing financial difficulty are invited to contact Ruchi Lamba directly to discuss payment options, and such conversations are treated confidentially.

Non-payment. Where fees remain unpaid and no arrangement has been made, IDTC may suspend access to classes, the student portal, and performance participation until the account is settled.

Fee changes. IDTC may adjust fees between program years. Families will be given reasonable notice before any change takes effect.

  1. Attendance, Absences, and Makeup Classes

Attendance at every scheduled class is expected. Full details are set out in our School Policies, and the key financial terms are these:

  • You will be charged for every scheduled class whether or not the student attends.
  • If IDTC cancels a class, you will not be charged and your fees will be adjusted accordingly.
  • Makeup classes are offered at IDTC’s discretion and depend on available space, the student’s attendance record, the reason for the absence, and teacher availability.
  • Where a student misses four or more classes, IDTC may offer 15 minutes of private instruction for each hour missed, subject to the same considerations.
  • Extended absence may affect eligibility to perform in the annual GUNJAN recital.

Video of missed material may be provided where practical. It is intended for practice and is not a substitute for in-person instruction.

  1. Withdrawal and Cancellation

To withdraw a student, please notify Ruchi Lamba in writing. We ask for at least 30 days’ notice so that class planning, choreography, and costume arrangements can be adjusted.

Fees already paid for classes delivered are non-refundable. The annual registration fee is non-refundable. Recital fees may be non-refundable once costumes, venue, or musician commitments have been made on the student’s behalf.

IDTC may end a student’s enrollment where conduct seriously or repeatedly disrupts the learning of others, where policies are not observed after discussion, or where fees remain unpaid without an agreed arrangement.

  1. Additional Costs

Ghunghroos, uniforms, costumes, jewelry, examination fees, and production-related items are not included in tuition and are purchased separately by the family.

  1. Studio Conduct

Students and families are expected to follow the standards set out in our School Policies, including punctuality, dress code, ghunghroo care, respectful conduct toward teachers and classmates, and the etiquette observed at the start and close of each class.

Teachers may ask a student to leave a class where behavior disrupts others. Repeated issues will be discussed with the family before any decision about continued enrollment is made.

  1. Examinations, Performances, and Rangmanch Pravesh

Participation in examinations, recitals, productions, and Rangmanch Pravesh is determined by IDTC based on the student’s training level, attendance, preparation, and readiness.

Rangmanch Pravesh requires a minimum of seven years of Kathak training and successful completion of the required theory and practical examinations. It remains optional, and eligibility does not create an obligation on either side.

Casting decisions for productions rest with the artistic director. Performance dates, venues, and program content may change, and IDTC will give families as much notice as circumstances allow.

  1. Photography, Video, and Social Media

IDTC may photograph or record classes, rehearsals, recitals, and productions, and may use that material to promote the school on our website, in printed programs, and on social media.

Families who prefer that a student not appear in promotional material may opt out in writing at any time by emailing [email protected]. We will honor the request going forward, and we ask for reasonable time to remove material already in circulation.

Students and families may not film in class without the explicit permission of the teacher and the classmates present. Recordings shared with students for practice are for personal use only and must not be posted publicly or distributed.

  1. Student Portal

The student portal is provided for enrolled students and their families. Login credentials are personal and must not be shared outside the household.

Materials in the portal, including tutorial video, choreography, practice audio, syllabus documents, and notes, remain the property of IDTC. They are licensed to you for personal practice for the duration of enrollment. Downloading for redistribution, reposting, or commercial use is not permitted.

Access to the portal ends when enrollment ends.

  1. Health, Safety, and Supervision

Dance carries a risk of physical injury. By enrolling, you confirm that the student is in suitable health to take part, and you agree to inform IDTC of any medical condition, injury, or limitation relevant to their participation.

Please arrive to collect younger students promptly. IDTC supervises students during scheduled class time and is not responsible for students before or after their class.

Valuables are best left at home. IDTC is not responsible for personal property lost or damaged on the premises.

  1. Intellectual Property

All content on this website, including text, photographs, video, choreography, logos, and course materials, belongs to IDTC or is used with permission. You may view and share our public pages. You may not copy, reproduce, republish, or use our content commercially without written permission.

  1. Donations

Donations to IDTC support scholarships, live musicians, productions, and community performances. Recurring donations may be cancelled at any time by contacting us. Donations are generally non-refundable, and we will always consider a request made in good faith where a gift was given in error.

  1. Website Use and Third-Party Links

Our website is provided on an as-is basis. We work to keep information such as schedules and fees accurate and current, and we cannot guarantee that every page is free of error at every moment. Where a discrepancy arises, the information confirmed directly by IDTC applies.

To the fullest extent permitted by California law, IDTC’s liability arising from your use of this website or participation in our programs is limited to the fees paid for the program in question.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
